National Painters' Camp at Malampuzha

Kerala Lalithakala Akademi organized a week-long national painters camp at KTDC Garden House, Malampuzha, Palakkad  in June 2015. Twelve renowned artists from accross the country  including Kerala participated in the camp.

Kerala Lalithakala Akademi organized a week-long national painters camp at KTDC Garden House, Malampuzha, Palakkad  in June 2015. Twelve renowned artists from accross the country  including Kerala participated in the camp.

Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Secretary, Shri. Vaikom M.K. Shibu opinioned that the camp served as an excellent platform for the artists from different parts of India to share, contribute and experience the different contemporary styles in the painting arena.

The works of the artists in varying styles and ideologies made the camp appealing and inspirational. (motivative / educative).

The water colour painting by renowned artist, Surendran Nair from Baroda, titled as 'Mohini an Actor Prepares' exemplified his talent to express the emotions of the human soul with colors. Works of other artists like Bhagyanath's 'Space and Ladder', Sajitha Sankar's ' Alter Body', Sajith's ' Continuity of Forms in Space', Tensing Joseph's 'Culture Maker', Nagadas's ' Faith and Reality' etc. were displayed during the camp.

The camp also had visual presentations, interactive sessions with the artists, and talks of the artists for audience. The participation of various artists from all over India, provided an unique opportunity to understand the contemporary styles and trends in painting prevailing in India.
