French-Algerian artist and curator Kader Attia has been announced as the curator of the seventh edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, scheduled to open in December 2027. The announcement was made by Kochi Biennale Foundation President Jitish Kallat at a special event in Venice.
Internationally acclaimed for his work exploring history, memory, colonialism, and cultural identity, Attia previously participated in the 2014 edition of the Biennale. The Kochi Biennale Foundation stated that his curatorial vision is expected to bring new artistic dialogues and global perspectives while remaining deeply connected to Kochi’s cultural landscape. The seventh edition will continue the Biennale’s legacy as India’s largest contemporary art festival and a major platform for international artistic exchange.
