Ochirakkali at Ochira, Kollam district

Oachirakkali is part of the first two days of the annual festival at Parabrahma temple, Ochira. This ritual commemorates the war between the rulers of the Kayamkulam and Ambalappuzha principalities on the Ochira Padanilam (battle field). Ochirakkali is celebrated in a waterlogged field and engage in a playful mock battle by the two teams who dressed up in traditional attire. The trade of Cattle & Agricultural products is the attraction for the next three days.   Ochira is 34kms north of Kollam and 5kms from Kayamkulam.
